Michael Tobin

Michael Tobin

Michael is co-founder of Continent 8 Technologies PLC and the creator of the “Continent 8” brand. He is a Certified Public Accountant by profession and an entrepreneur by nature. He is a former Director of Empire State Development, the lead economic development agency for New York State.
 
Michael is a graduate of Montreal’s McGill University

 

 

Mike Nahoum

CFO and VP Operations

Mike NahoumPrior to Mike becoming the acting Financial Director* of Continent 8 Technologies PLC in April 2006 Mike was the CFO and VP Operations of Mohawk internet Technologies from September 2001. Prior to that Mike served as Chief Financial Officer of Interaction Restaurants Ltd for 5 years. During that time, the company was ranked among the top 50 Canadian-based restaurant companies in terms of sales. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer of The Marine Group, a real estate development company. Mike is a Chartered Accountant and articled at Zittrer Siblin Stein Levine (which later joined Ernst & Young) until he left as a Senior Manager. Mike has a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University and is a graduate of McGill University.

*Financial directorship and consulting services will be provided to the Company by a Canadian company wholly owned and controlled by Mike Nahoum.

John Webster

Non-executive Chairman

John is an economist and former Chief Economic Advisor to the Isle of Man Government. After 12 years in post, Johnleft Government to become an entrepreneur. He has since built successful businesses within software, project management, corporate and fiduciary services and holds a number of non-executive posts. As a long time advocate of the Isle of Man, John is the Chairman of the Manx Business Connection, created by the IOM Government to diversify and expand the Isle of Man’s economic base.

Previously, John has served as Deputy Chairman of the Financial Supervision Commission, President of The IOM Chamber of Commerce, Chairman, Island Games of Mann and was a lecturer in economics and management studies.

John Bud Morris

Non-executive Director

John Bud MorrisMr. Morris is CEO of the Tewatohnhi’saktha Kahnawake Economic Development Commission, an organisation mandated to invest in opportunities, people and small businesses for the benefit of the Mohawk People of Kahnawake. Prior to his current position, he launched the $1.6 billion Aboriginal Human Resource Development Strategy as a Director General for Human Resources Development Canada. Previous to that, he served as an Executive Director to the Lower Nicola Indian Band and to the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake. He also served two terms as an elected chief of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake.

 

Frank Catania

Non-executive Director

Mr. Catania is a lawyer and has been selected by “Best Lawyers in America” for gaming. Mr. Catania is a former Assistant Attorney General and Director of New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. He is also a former Deputy Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly. He has previously served as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the International Association of Gaming Regulators, Compliance Officer of Players International, Chairman of the Forum of American Casino Regulators and as the first President of the International Masters of Gaming Law. Mr Catania is President and principal of the Catania Gaming Consultants. In addition he is counsel to the Law Firm of Catania and DiBrino, located in New Jersey. Mr. Catania serves as an independent director on the boards of eCOGRA, Empire Resorts and Casino and Nevada Gold Casinos. He has been published on a wide variety of casino gaming and government related topics in several national publications, regional newspapers and trade publications.

Honourable Otto Jelinek

Non-executive Director

Mr. Jelinek was Minister for National Revenue for Canada from 1989 to 1993. He also held various other portfolios including Minister of State for sport during the 1988 Winter Olympics held in Calgary. He is a lifetime member of the Queen’s Privy Council. On leaving politics in 1993 Mr Jelinek went to the Czech Republic to form Jelinek International, an international business development, investment and trade company. In 1996 he became Chairman of Deloitte and Touche Czech Republic and later took on additional responsibilities as Office Managing Partner and Chairman of Deloitte and Touche Central Europe. He is an honorary member of the Board of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic and served as President from 1992 to 2000. In January 2006, Mr. Jelinek was appointed international coordinator of the Czech Republic with responsibility for coordinating economic activities for the Czech Republic abroad. Mr. Jelinek is a former World Figure Skating Champion and is a member of Canada’s sports Hall of Fame.

Jay Stubina

Shareholder and Co-founder

Jay StubinaJay is also a principal advisor to Mohawk Internet Technologies. With his emphasis on customer service and strong business acumen, he helped make MIT the Internet data centre of choice for the online gaming industry. Jay brings to MIT his many years of experience in finance and real estate.

Prior to MIT, Jay served as Vice-President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Luger Real Estate, and before that as a Senior Manager at Richter, Usher & Vineberg, one of the largest independent accounting, business advisory and consulting firms in Canada. Jay is a graduate of Montreal’s McGill University.

 

John Stone

Chief Technical Officer

John StoneJohn joined Continent 8 in 2010 from Cisco Systems where he was their CTO for Ireland, he previously also worked for Cara, a subsidiary of Aer Lingus.

As CTO for Continent 8, John is responsible for translating technology innovation into business value for Continent 8 and its eGaming customers. John is responsible for the strategic direction of internal infrastructure and services to support Continent 8’s extensive global network, multi-jurisdictional eGaming platform and support organization. In addition, John is also responsible for the definition, development and delivery of current and new services to address customer requirements in this growing and challenging marketplace.
 
John holds a degree from Dublin City University along with three Diploma’s in Information Technology from DCU, Electrical Engineering from DIT Kevin Street, and Business & Finance from the IMI.

Nick Nally

Chief Development Officer

Nick NallyNick has 20 years experience in many sectors of the IT & telecommunications industry encompassing senior management, consultancy, sales, carrier relations, engineering and business development.

Most recently, Nick set up and developed Packet Exchange’s business operations in Ireland. Nick is also a consultant to the Department of Communications in Ireland and has worked on a number of initiatives including the Irish Connectivity Project and related data centre activity which was a key part of the Irish government’s economic development program. Prior to this Nick held a number of positions in Ireland and the US including Sales Director for WorldPort, a managed hosting provider; Head of Wholesale & Carrier Services for WorldCom in Ireland where he set up the wholesale operation; General Manager for MCI WorldCom in Ireland and Vice President of Business Development with Eircom in the US. Nick holds Electronic Engineering and Master of Industrial Engineering degrees from University College, Dublin.

Peter Williams

Business Development Director

Peter WilliamsPeter has a wealth of experience with over 18 years in Senior Commercial roles, in the Global communications sector, before joining the company he was with Telefonica O2 Ireland where he led a team in the setting of the ICT strategic. Previously Peter worked with companies such as Cable & Wireless ( Global Account director ), BT Worldwide ( Director of ICT Solutions ), Energis Communications ( Corporate Sales Director ) and Cisco Systems ( Regional Sales Manager ).

Peter has also worked with selected start-up organisations building value and growth across several geographies and has extensive experience in implementing complex communications solutions for multi-nationals. He has an excellent track record to date. Peter joins Continent 8 Technologies from his most recent post where he led a team in the setting of the ICT strategic direction for Telefonica O2 Ireland.

Richard Ebbutt

Head of Marketing

Richard EbbuttRichard has over 15 years marketing, advertising and sales experience gained in a number of industry sectors including White goods and FMCG. He has a wide marketing knowledge having undertaken a number of company re-branding exercises and run successful loyalty marketing programmes.

Richard holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Huddersfield University and is a member of both the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Management Institute.

Richard is based in the Isle of Man office and has responsibility for Continent 8 Technologies’ global marketing activities.

Paul Watterson

Director of Finance

Paul WattersonPaul has over 10 years experience in the finance industry and prior to becoming Director of Finance and Company Secretary of Continent 8 Technologies he was Audit Manager at KPMG where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.  While at KPMG his specialist industry sectors were banking, investment funds, life insurance and transaction services where he oversaw a number of acquisitions and flotations.

Paul is based in the Group’s Head office in the Isle of Man and is responsible for the accounting, company secretarial and key financial relationships of the group.  He holds a primary honours degree in Economics from Manchester University.
 
 

Dany Chapdelaine

Technical Operations Director

Dany has over 12 years of experience in IT acting primarily as a system administrator for the first 4 years and as a Technical Operations Director in the gaming industry since 2001.

 

Dany joined Mohawk Internet Technologies in 2006. He consulted in the technical development and implementation of Continent 8 Technologies’ expansion projects in Europe. Previously, Dany was employed as Technical Operations Director for Optimal Payments, an electronic payment processor company working on a number of initiatives including the development, implementation and testing of a disaster recovery solution and business continuity plan for all critical systems.

 

Dany is based in Montreal, Canada and has overall technical responsibility for Continent 8 Technologies’ data centre infrastructure located in North America and Asia. Dany holds a Bachelor degree in mathematics from the University of Trois-Rivières, Canada.
